We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: they don’t make ’em like they use to, and that’s especially true when it comes to music. We love all the music the 1960s had to offer, from the one-hit-wonders to the chart-toppers, and everything in between. That said, if we had to pick one song that perfectly embodied what the music of the ’60s meant to us, it would be Little Eva’s 1962 smash hit, “The Loco-Motion.” Co-written by Carole King and her husband Gerry Goffin, the bubbly, catchy tune went perfectly with Little Eva’s harmonizing skills and The Cookies backing vocals. Even the accompanying dance was loads of fun! Listen to this one again and see for yourself below. If you’re unconvinced, let us know what your choice for favorite 1960s song would be in the comments section.
