Kids are notoriously fussy eaters. Bon Appetit conducted a fun study where children sampled lunches from every decade from 1900s to today. As you can see in the video, some kids hated some foods and refused to eat them, while others absolutely loved them — there is no telling with kids! It is also very interesting to see what the lunch from each decade tells us about the times. The modest lunch from 1930s reflects the economic hardships of the time, while the abundant lunch of the 1950s hints at the booming economy. The meals also reveal the changing attitudes towards health and fitness in each age. The meals from the mid to late 20th century pay scant regard to controlling the amount of sugar or processed ingredients, while meals from the 21st century eliminate all soda and crisps.
